Sydney Famous Landmarks – Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House

If you are visiting Sydney, the largest city in Australia, during Christmas season, do not expect a white Christmas as Christmas Days occurs in the first month of the southern summer in Australia. The two most famous landmarks that one must visit when in Sydney are the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House.

Known by the locals as the Coast Hanger because of its appearance, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is an impressive bridge with beautiful structure. Try the Bridge Climb which brings you from the base to the top of the bridge where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the city and the harbour. The Sydney Opera House is a world class performing arts center, with distinctive roof of sails patterned tiles, vast terraced areas set against the stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbour. Grab an ice cream from the wharf and enjoy the breeze.

For those who like shopping, Queen Victoria Building is a must-visit. It was exhibits include seals, fairy penguins and large underwater tunnels for viewing ocean fish, sharks and stingrays. Children will enjoy spotting familiar species from Disney’s Finding Nemo.

From the Sydney Aquarium, take a leisurely stroll to the Darling Harbour. Enjoy a cup of coffee and take an undercover walk to appreciate the cooling sea breeze.

The summer in Sydney is falls on December to February, autumn from March to May, winter from June to August and spring from September to November. Pick the right season and enjoy your vacation in the largest city in Australia.
